Audience: Potential web designers and developers who are new to web site development and XHTML syntax and who need to create and maintain web sites.
Prerequisites: Familiarity with using the Internet, Web, and a browser (such as Internet Explorer or Netscape).
Summary: This intensive, hands-on course provides the delegate with the latest specification of HTML/XHTML syntax. Through the case study the delegate will have the opportunity to create a small three page web site using a text editor (e.g., Notepad). This can then serve as a starter site for his/her portfolio.
Objectives: Upon completion of this course, delegates should:
  • Have a sound understanding of XHTML syntax
  • Preview web pages in a browser
  • Be able to develop well-formed web pages and upload them
  • Be able to validate a web page using the W3C Validator
