Summary: This course is designed to assist DB2 UDB system administrators in monitoring and tuning the DB2 for LUW system. In particular, emphasis is placed on:
  • Memory usage
  • Buffer pool tuning
  • Prefetching
  • I/O design
  • Table design
  • Index design
  • Configuration parameters
  • Etc.
Objectives: Upon completion of this presentation, the participant should be able to:
  • Manage and establish performance objectives
  • Review and interpret performance data
  • Configure and tune the DB2 UDB system
  • Scale the configuration (e.g., Adding a partition(s))
  • Optimise capacity (e.g., Memory, logging, etc.)
  • Optimise database organisation and placement.
